CHRIS CROCKER HAS A SINGLE

I posted this on another blog already but the video was messed up. Anyways listen up people Chris has something to say (yeah i know what else is new? lol)




That's right people Chris Crocker has a single. When I first of this I didn't have very high expectations cuz frankly Chris isn't much of a singer. He did a lot better than I thought he would. I have the song on my ipod but it doesn't get much play. It does sound like something Britney would do though lol.

Favorite SNL Sketch

I'm not a big fan of SNL. I really don't think it's that funny. But there is one sketch (besides dick in a box that is) I will always love forever . It's really old but I don't care I found it on you tube and I still think it's funny. It's the sketch Jim Carrey did with Chris Kattan and Will Ferrel. It's the parody of night at the roxbury. I can't believe was able to hold that one stupid face the whole time! Anyways here it is. Hope it make you laugh.

Yeah I know he disappeared off the music scene for the longest. It's been 4 years since his last studio album (Encore for those who don't remember). Well he's back with a brand new release. Not it's not a single...or an album...it's a book. Well it's a memoir to be more specific. It was actually released a week ago. It's called the Way I Am. It looks like this.


There used to be a time when I'd never even utter anything bad about eminem. I was such a huge fan. People even used to call me eminem's lawyer because I'd defend him to anyone who had anything negative to say. But sadly those days are over. I don't know about you but I don't think this book is really necessary. He doesn't have to write a memior. We know already. It's in all of the songs in every album. You talk about it in all the interviews and when it's not in the interviews it's all over the news. It's even in Angry Blonde (that's the first book he has when he explains whats going through his head when he's writing his crazy lyrics). You exposed enuff for us already slim. And I know I'm gonna be in a minority when I say this but you don't have to expose any more. You don't owe us anything. Keep something private. Even you said you don't really like fame.

GO GIRL

So it looks like Ciara is back on the scene with a brand new single and a brand new video. It's called Go Girl and it's featuring T-Pain. T-Pain also did the beat.When I originally heard the single on the radio I wasn't really impressed. In her defense it was morning radio and I'm not a morning person plus I was barely paying attention cuz I was trying not to be late for work. When I really sat down the listen to it again I liked it a lot better. It's cool but I would really love to see her do something totally out of her element or do some unexpected collaborations. She should so something crazy like Ciara and Lenny Kravitz. Anyways here's the new video. I like it. It reminds me of something Janet Jackson would do only I like it better when Ciara does it cuz it doesn't seem like CiCi is forcing the sex appeal. It looks like it comes very natural to her.

EYE CANDY THEME: TODD GOLDMAN

Ever since I took a required art class in college I've had a greater fondness for art. I dabble in photography a little bit but it's only because I can't draw or paint. It's a talent I always wish I had but since I don't I figured I'd honor those who can. First up Todd Goldman. I love his stuff. I even have one of his t-shirts. It says "boys lie throw pie". I love dark humor and Todd Goldman's work has a lot of it. Take a look.

Another Way To Die

OMG! I was so hyped when I saw Alicia Keys and Jack White had done a song together. I love Alicia Keys and I am also a HUGE White Stripes fan. But even more important it's not often people get to see collaborations like this with people from two different genres of music that dont' normally cross paths often. You've seen hip hop and r&b a lot of course. You've seen pop and rock. You've even seen rap and rock a lot but soul and rock is not such a common combination. That's what I love the most about this song. Alicia and Jack showed yet another nice blending of genres for the generation of people that listen to it all (my generation). Anyways here's the video.

Sol Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams

Ok I know I may be late cuz this album came out ages ago but I just bought Sol Angel and the Hadley Street Dream and OMG I FREAKIN LOVE IT! I had Solange's debut album Solo Star back when I was in high school and I liked it then but Sol Angel really shows how much she's grown since then. She's talking about real relationship situations. She has an old school vibe that suits her so well. Her vocals are even so much more impressive than before. I love that not only did she not try to copy her sister but she didn't try to do whatever was popular. She made the kind of music she liked and wanted to make. You can just tell that it's totally on her terms. I respect that and I think everybody should go get this album. It's hot! I know ya'll already heard the singles I Decided and Sand Castle Disco so here are my two favorite songs that aren't singles.

Ok First off lemme say I like both of these videos. Although the concept for the second lacks originality (Ciara already did the whole role reversal thing). I like the first one more. The first time I saw it she had me wanting to learn the dance moves so bad (I already have a few of them down lol). A lot of hip poppin which is good for her since she has nice hips. My favorite move is right at 1:31. Looks like a kickboxing move or something lmao! The second video is cool but like I said Ciara already traveled that road. Then again what else are you supposed to do with that kind of song?








btw Am I the only one wondering why Beyonce is singing about relationship blues? She just got married. Shouldn't she be makin another flaws and all (i love that song it's so beautiful)?

The Tarot Cafe

I picked up a book on Japanese teen aged street style (Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno) and it inspired to to soak up as much Japanese culture as I could. I started getting into manga recently to see if I would like it. I do like some of it but sometime I feel it's a little too cheesy (especially the love stories) but I really like this series. It's called the Tarot Cafe and it's about this psychic woman named Pamela who helps supernatural beings with whatever is ailing them. It pretty dark but definitely not cheesy and definitely a series adults can enjoy. It's not for those who hold fast to their christian beliefs though. There's a lot of not so nice commentary on the catholic church. But for those who are feeling adventurous it's a great series. Here's some artwork from it.




I'm not really sure if Sang Sun Park is really Japanese though. Park isn't really a Japanese name. Also this series doesn't follow in the traditional Japanese format (meaning it reads left to right as opposed to the traditional right to left) so I guess it's not really traditional manga but I like it anyway.

Kanye's New Video

When I saw Kanye debut this single on the 08 MTV VMA's (yeah i know that's a log of initials lol) and Kanye had the dim lights to emphasize the red glowing heart on his suit it had me thinking of what the video would look like. Kanye always does some interesting things with his videos. This video is no different. And who knew Kanye could sing?

Why Duffy Rocks

It's simple. She has all the talent and retro vibes of Amy Winehouse without any of the guilt of feeling like ur supporting a drug habbit. Here are two singles. I think they should get more air play.

What The Hell Happened to FeFe Dobson?

Seriously was I the only one in the US that thought she was cool. I think she was way better than Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson. I'm not saying they were bad. I do like them too but FeFe Dobson fuckin rocked man! And let's not forget she was the original brown girl to have the glam rock fashion thing goin on (not Rihanna). Now I hear she's been dropped from her label and now I have to search the Internet for hours just find her new material (ok i'm exaggerating maybe not hours). I love her music and I love her style!! Somebody sign her so she can get some better promotion!! This is one of my favorite songs from her.
