I just got TI's paper trail. I was pleasantly surprised. I always like TI but I never liked him enough to actually buy an entire album of his. I'd usually just download whatever singles he had out. I didn't think I'd be able to listen to a whole TI album. I figured it would be boring but I took a chance on paper trail and it didn't disappoint. TI actually shows a lot of maturity that I never knew he had.
He isn't just rapping about bitches and hoes and money and clubs. He's actually saying something of substance (well sometimes at least). Unfortunately I can't say he's above the constant bragging but then again I still have yet to find a rapper that is. You can already see said maturity in two of his singles (No Matter What and Live Your Life). Here it is in writing just in case you never really listened to the lyrics.
The hooting and the hollering, back and forth with the arguing
Where you from, who you know, what you make and what kind of car you in
Seems as though you lost sight of what's important when depositing
Them checks into your bank account and you up out of poverty
Your values is in disarray, prioritizing horribly
Unhappy with the riches 'cause you piss poor morally
Ignoring all prior advice and fore warning
And we mighty full of ourselves all of a sudden, aren't we?
It's loaded with guest appearances and usually when that happens it makes people thing you need tons of guest appearances to sell your album but I don't think this is the case. I like this cd and I'm proud of how far TI has come since I'm serious. Here's my favorite song of the cd....and yes I purposely picked one that didn't have a guest appearance. Like I said he got it by himself.
And since we're already on the subject of TI the video for Live Your Life is finally out. I've been waiting to see what this video was gonna look like ever since they premiered the song at the mtv vmas. This video would make a more entertaining movie than ATL lol. Here it is.
